Đây là một lễ hội văn hóa – du lịch quốc tế, một sự kiện văn hóa nghệ thuật tiêu biểu mang đậm bản sắc văn hóa Việt Nam, văn hóa Huế trong tiến trình hội nhập và phát triển và là một điểm nhấn trong Năm Du lịch quốc gia Duyên hải Bắc Trung bộ Huế 2012.
