On the evening of September 15, 2023, the Thua Thien Hue Union of Science and Technology Associations (HUSTA) solemnly organized the 7th Ceremony to Honor Outstanding Science and Technology Intellectuals, 2023.
Attending the ceremony were A/Prof. Pham Ngoc Linh, PhD – Vice President of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Tien – Director of Vifotec Foundation, Ho Thang, PhD – Director of the Department of Science and Technology, Do Thi Xuan Dung, PhD – Deputy Director of Hue University, Prof. Tran Huu Dang, PhD – Former Chairman of HUSTA and representatives of leaders of departments, member associations, affiliated centers, and a large number of outstanding scientists, members, and relatives of honored intellectuals.
Established in 1993, HUSTA is the common home of scientists in the area, up to now, after 30 years of establishment and development, there have been 51 member associations, 01 Institute, 08 Centers, and 01 Club with more than 30,000 members.

The Ceremony to Honor Science and Technology Intellectuals is a meaningful activity organized annually by HUSTA to recognize the merits and honor the scientists who have many contributions to the development of science and technology as well as the socio-economic development of Thua Thien Hue province. At the same time, the ceremony motivates and encourages scientists to participate in scientific research, technological development, consulting, and disseminating knowledge, which contributes to the development of HUSTA and contributes to the work of turning Thua Thien Hue into a municipality directly under the Central Government.
Once again, this activity has affirmed that science and technology play a key role in bringing about significant changes in socioeconomic growth. Thua Thien Hue has built a development plan with specific goals, solutions, orientation to 2025, vision to 2030, striving to build Thua Thien Hue into one of the country’s major centers for science and technology associated with the center of education, training, and in-depth medicine.
During the activities and contributions, scientists always play a particularly important role.
Seventeen (17) outstanding scientists and intellectuals at today’s Honor Ceremony, including 2 foreign intellectuals (Italian and Korean), with their outstanding achievements have been recognized. Known not only in the province, in the country but also internationally – those scientists – deserve to be the pride of the scientific and technological intellectual team of Thua Thien Hue province.
