Hue City honor 40 outstanding technical solutions at the Closing and Awarding Ceremony of the 15th Technical Creativity Competition

On 21 November in Hue city, the Closing and Awarding Ceremony of the 15th Technical Creativity Competition was organized to recognize and honor outstanding technical solutions that have contributed to the socio-economic development of the city.

The ceremony was attended by city leaders and former officials, representatives of municipal departments and mass organizations, Hue University and Hue Central Hospital, central agencies based in the city, universities, colleges and businesses, as well as a large number of authors whose entries were recognized in this year’s competition.

City leaders presented flowers to congratulate the organizing committee.

The year 2025 marks a period of significant change, as Hue’s elevation to a centrally governed city, together with the restructuring of local administrative units and the formal operation of a two-tier local government model, has generated positive impact across the community.

Amid these changes, Hue Union of Science and Technology Associations has continued to strengthen its increasingly important role in uniting, engaging and promoting the scientific and technological community, both domestically and internationally. The Technical Creativity Competition is one of the practical activities that foster and showcase the innovative potential of scientists and encourage the practical application of their ideas. Over its fifteen iterations, the competition has attracted thousands of entries across diverse scientific fields, nurturing a vibrant spirit of creativity and innovation, which contributes to the city’s recent achievements in economy, society, and technology.

This year’s competition continues to embody that spirit of creativity and innovation. It provides a meaningful platform to acknowledge the significant contributions of scientists and innovators to the city’s development, while simultaneously supporting the creation of a highly qualified workforce capable of meeting the demands of scientific advancement, technological innovation and national digital transformation – in alignment with the key principles outlined in Resolution 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo.

For the 2025 edition, the Organizing Committee received 106 entries across six categories. Following assessments by a prestigious and high-quality panel of judges, 40 entries were selected for awards, comprising 6 First Prizes, 8 Second Prizes, 10 Third Prizes and 16 Consolation Prizes.

Highlighted winning solutions include:

  • The application of artificial intelligence to enhance document management and administrative operations within the two-tier government model, by the Hue City Centre for Information Technology.
  • A study proposing the development of Gia Hoi Old Quarter into a distinctive commercial and tourism district, by the Hue Institute for Development Studies.
  • The creation of CO₂-absorbing construction materials derived from fly ash and coconut fibre, by Phu Bai High School.
  • The development of high-enzyme microbial formulations from indigenous microorganisms to control wilt disease in peanuts, by the University of Agriculture and Forestry, Hue University.
  • A breakthrough in diagnosing and treating male infertility through sperm DNA fragmentation and oxidative stress testing, by the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University.
  • The development of educational resources for primary schools based on Hue’s folk literary heritage, by the University of Education, Hue University, in collaboration with the Department of Culture and Sports.

Six solutions received the First Prizes.

Eight solutions received the Second Prizes.

Ten  solutions received the Third Prizes.

Sixteen solutions received the Consolation Prizes.

The Organising Committee also presented Certificates of Merit to five collectives for their contributions of the competition, and presented commemorative medals to members of the judging panels.

Launching the 16th Technical Innovation Competition in 2026.

Following the awards ceremony, the Organizing Committee formally launched the 16th Technical Creativity Competition (2026), calling for widespread participation to further promote innovation and scientific creativity across the community.
