On July 8, the Executive Board of the Union of Science and Technology Associations of Thua Thien Hue province (the Union) held an expanded Excuitve board conference to preliminarily review the work of the first 6 months and deploy the last 6-month tasks. At the end of 2019, with the participation of the Executive members, the term of 2018-2023 and representatives of some member associations and affiliated units.
In the first 6 months of the year, the Union of Science and Technology Associations of Thua Thien Hue province has implemented its tasks and achieved many results in all aspects. Associations, member associations and affiliated units have strengthened the organization, improved capacity and operational efficiency, contributing to the successful implementation of the provincial socio-economic development plan. The Association successfully organized the 5th Congress of Thua Thien Hue Union of Science and Technology Associations, term 2018-2023; well organized activities to celebrate Vietnam Science and Technology Day (18-5); successfully organized the 12th Innovation Contest for youth and children (the Contest) with 127 participating topics and 25 selected outstanding topics to participate in the 2019 National Contest; implementing the 9th Technical Innovation Contest in 2019; information dissemination activities, critical feedback and scientific and technological activities are focused; Especially, the Ceremony to Honoring Typical Science and Technology Intellectuals of Thua Thien Hue Province for the third time gave 16 typical intellectuals, including 2 foreign scientists who made great contributions to the province, … Besides , Member associations organize had many activities such as professional training, to improve the qualifications of officials and members; actively participate in socialization activities of education, training, dissemination of laws, health, sports, training and transfer of applied scientific and technical advances to actual production, classics Picture as Lawyers’ Association, Cardiology Association, Historical Science Association, Animal Husbandry Association, Family Planning Association, Eastern Medicine Association …
Regarding the tasks of the last 6 months of the year, the Union of Provincial Science and Technology Associations continues to do well the work of gathering and uniting the contingent of scientific and technological intellectuals, promoting the intellectuals to continue to practice. Performing tasks under the direction of the Provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, Provincial People’s Committee and Central Council of Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations and professional operation plan 2019. Focusing on promoting private activities counseling and social assessment, actively contributing ideas to major programs, plans and projects of the province; improve the quality of information and communication activities, disseminate scientific and technical knowledge; strengthen links, cooperation, actively mobilize resources in implementing activities of the Union of Provincial Science and Technology Associations and member units.
Also at the conference, the Provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations held a Certificate of Merit for organizations and individuals rewarded by the Vietnam Union, Provincial People’s Committee in 2018 and the 2013-2018 term of the Union Assembly.
