In the evening of December 28, Thua Thien Hue Union of Science and Technology Associations (HUSTA) held the fourth Ceremony of honour for 12 typical science and technology intellectuals in 2020.
Attending were Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Mr Nguyen Van Phuong, leaders of relevant departments and branches and numerous representatives.

Honoring typical Science and Technology Intellectuals is an activity organized annually by the Union of Science and Technology Associations to recognize the non-stop contributions of scientific and technological intellectuals in the province.
In his speech, Prof. Dr. Tran Huu Dang, President of HUSTA affirmed: In the construction and development of the province, the role of intellectuals is extremely important, the intellectual team of Thua Thien Hue always emphasizes the spirit patriotism, national pride, enthusiasm for scientific activities making an important contribution to the province’s socio-economic development.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Phuong emphasized:
Resolution No. 54-NQ / TW of the Politburo defines views and orientations for building and developing Thua Thien Hue into a city directly under the Central Government on the basis of preserving and promoting the value of the ancient heritage and cultural identity of Hue, with cultural features, heritage, ecology, landscape, environmental friendliness and intelligence; tourism is a key economic sector, IT and communications are breakthrough, industry and high-tech agriculture are the foundation.
With the responsibility of preserving the heritage, the province orientates economic development on the basis of promoting heritage values in the direction of transition, continuing the past with the future, tradition and modernity. In order to successfully implement that goal and orientation,it is proposed that HUSTA and the contingent of scientific and technological intellectuals of the province need to promote more activeness and creativity; Provincial leaders want intellectuals, especially the 12 typical intellectuals honored this time continue to accompany the province, promote patriotism, dedicate talents and wisdom to build the homeland to develop.
HUSTA and functional branches are responsible for strengthening coordination in organizing movements, emulation of creative labor, innovations and technical improvements. All levels of goverment and branches continue to thoroughly grasp and effectively implement guidelines and resolutions of the Party and the State that have determined that science, technology, education and training are the top national policies; building a contingent of intellectuals, a contingent of labor and creativity in the period of revolution 4.0, contributing to the construction of the province into a central city according to Resolution 54 of the Politburo.
Through 4 times of organization, the Organizing Committee has selected and honored 60 typical scientists with their outstanding achievements which have been known not only in the province, domestically but also internationally, they deserves to be the pride of scientific and technological intellectuals of Thua Thien Hue.
