In accordance with Plan No. 114/KH-UBND, issued on March 11, 2024, by the People’s Committee of Thua Thien Hue Province, the 14th Provincial Technical Innovation Contest was organized in 2024. As part of this, the Scientific Councils reviewed and assessed various technical innovation proposals submitted by researchers, aiming to identify and select the most optimal solutions.
The Meeting of Scientific Councils
The Technical Innovation Contest is an annual event designed to foster creativity and recognize the contributions of individuals across Thua Thien Hue, including scientists, workers, and farmers. It also serves to discover and highlight useful technical solutions in the fields of science and technology that can be applied to production processes and daily life, ultimately contributing to both economic and social development. Additionally, the contest seeks to identify outstanding scientific research and technical solutions to represent the province at the 18th National Technical Innovation Contest (2024-2025) and the 2024 National Science and Technology Innovation Awards.

By July 31, 2024, a total of 115 technical solutions had been submitted across six key areas:
- Information Technology, Electronics, and Telecommunications (10 solutions)
- Mechanical Engineering, Automation: Service Robot Manufacturing (3 solutions)
- Materials, Chemicals, and Energy (8 solutions)
- Agriculture, Forestry, Fisheries, Resources, and Environment (28 solutions)
- Medicine and Pharmacy (24 solutions)
- Education and Training (42 solutions)
Notable contributors to this year’s contest included Hue University with 44 solutions (38.2%), Hue Central Hospital with 15 solutions (13%), provincial educational institutions with 29 solutions (25.2%), provincial administrative units with 6 solutions (5.2%), and enterprises with 5 solutions (6.7%).

Over the course of 14 contests, the number of participants has steadily increased, with the quality of submitted solutions continuously improving. To date, 885 solutions have been recognized for their significant economic and social benefits, with many earning national-level awards. The contest has solidified its role in promoting scientific innovation and has made meaningful contributions to the economic and social progress of Thua Thien Hue Province.
