The Hue City Youth and Children’s Creative Competition is an annual event co-organized by the Hue Union of Science and Technology Associations, the Department of Education and Training, the Department of Science and Technology, and the City Youth Union. The competition aims to spark and nurture the creative thinking of Hue’s youth and children, guiding their activities toward meaningful contributions to society. At the same time, it helps them broaden their knowledge, sharpen their creativity, and cultivate dreams of becoming future inventors.

Over 18 editions, thousands of projects have participated in the school, district, and town-level rounds, with 1,778 projects selected to compete at the city level. A total of 718 projects have received awards, including 42 that won national prizes and three that earned international recognition.

The competition has proven to be a valuable activity for young people, simultaneously introducing a new approach to education – linking classroom learning with real-life application, research, and innovation – helping students to develop scientific thinking and understand how scientists work.

In 2025, 187 projects were selected from 9 districts and towns, high schools, colleges, and clubs to participate in the city-level competition, divided into five fields:

  • Learning tools (43 projects)
  • Information technology software (24 projects)
  • Environmentally friendly products (54 projects)
  • Household tools and children’s toys (30 projects)
  • Technical solutions for environmental protection, climate change adaptation, and economic development (36 projects)
