From April 22 to 24, 2026, a delegation from the Union of Science and Technology Associations of Hue City (HUSTA), led by Vice President Dr. Dang Thanh Phu, visited international organizations in Hanoi, including the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Vietnam and Oxfam in Vietnam.
During the visits, HUSTA provided an overview of its role as a focal organization connecting the local science and technology community, and shared Hue City’s strategic directions for science, technology, and innovation development, aligned with its long-term urban development goals. The delegation also introduced key initiatives proposed by HUSTA’s affiliated organizations, focusing on spatial equity in urban cooling, organic waste composting, and enhancing digital and AI capacity for vulnerable communities.
Within their respective mandates, the parties exchanged views on potential areas of digital transformation, innovation, capacity building for officials, strengthening local governance, climate change adaptation, waste and water resource management, sustainable agriculture, environmental protection, and the development of science and technology human resources. Discussions also covered possible forms of support, such as technical assistance, knowledge sharing, and the engagement of international experts in workshops, training, and research activities in Hue City.

The international partners acknowledged Hue City’s development priorities and expressed interest in exploring cooperation opportunities aligned with their own programs and priorities.
The visit helped sustain dialogue and strengthening connections between HUSTA and international partners, while laying the groundwork for collaborative activities in science and technology, in support of Hue City’s socio-economic development objectives.
