In the morning of May 12, 2017, at Hue University’s hall, Thua Thien Hue Union of Science and Technology Associations (HUSTA) held the Honoring Ceremony for distinguished science and technology intellectuals. Attended the ceremony were DSc. Nghiem Vu Khai – Vice President of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations, Mr. Nguyen Dung – Vice Chairman of Thua Thien Hue Provincial People’s Committee, heads of departments, offices, heads of member associations, affiliated centres and many distinguished scientists, intellectuals and members of HUSTA.

Fifteen (15) distinguished science and technology intellectuals honored at this event were those who had outstanding achievements that contribute to the consolidation and development of HUSTA and to the scientific and technology activities of Thua Thien Hue. Including: Dr. Duong Tuan Anh, Vice President of Thua Thien Hue Infomatics Association; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Do Bang, President of Thua Thien Hue Historical Sciences Association; M.A Tran Giai, Standing Vice President of HUSTA; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Nhu Hiep, President of Thua Thien Hue Cancer Association; Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hoang Loc, member of Thua Thien Hue Society for Biology Association; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duc Hung, President of Thua Thien Hue Society for Biology Association; Prof. Dr. Huynh Van Minh, President of Thua Thien Hue Heart Associatio; M.A Truong Cong Nam, Vice President of Thua Thien Hue Building Associations; Prof. Dr. Bui Duc Phu, President of Society of Infection Control Association; Herbalist Thich Tue Tam, Vice President of Thua Thien Hue Orientally Traditional Medicine Association; Prof. Dr. Cao Ngoc Thanh, President of Thua Thien Hue Obstetrics and Gynecology Association; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duy Thang, Member of the Executive committee of Thua Thien Hue Diabetes and Endocrinology Association; Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hai Thuy, Vice President of Thua Thien Hue Diabetes and Endocrinology Association; Eng. Nguyen Viet Tien, President of Thua Thien Hue Urban Planning and Development Association; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Truong Van Tuyen, Member of the standing committee of Thua Thien Hue Fisheries Association.
This was the first time HUSTA honored distinguished science and technology intellectuals in order to acknowledge their dedication, thereby encouraged them to strengthen solidarity, develop their wisdom to building and developing HUSTA, hence, contributing to the development and progress of Thua Thien Hue province. This ceremony honored science and technology intellectuals who had outstanding achievements that contribute to the development of member organizations of HUSTA and science and technology activities of Thua Thien Hue province.
