The Union of Science and Technology Associations of Thua Thien Hue Province (HUSTA) hosted the 5th ceremony to honor typical Science and Technology Intellectuals on the evening of May 17 at Hue University’s hall. This is a significant event in the province’s events to commemorate Vietnam Science and Technology Day on May 18, 2022, which was broadcast live on Thua Thien Hue province’s Radio and Television Station.
Honoring Ceremony of 14 Outstanding Science and Technology Intellectuals in 2022
Attending the ceremony, there were Mr. Nguyen Chi Tai – Member of Standing Committee of Provincial Party Committee, Head of Provincial Department of Mass Mobilization; Mr. Hoang Hai Minh – Member of Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee; Mr. Le Duy Tien – Member of the Presidium, Deputy General Secretary, Head of the Science, Technology and Environment Committee of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VNU), and representatives of leaders of departments and agencies, leaders of member associations, dependent centers and a large number of typical scientists, intellectuals, members and relatives of the typical intellectuals.
Prof. Dr. Tran Huu Dang, Secretary of the Party Union and Chairman of the Union of Science and Technology Associations of Thua Thien Hue province, praised and recognized the achievements and dedication of scientists, saying, “The intellectual team Thua Thien Hue province is evaluated as the first in the Central – Central Highlands region, the third in the country in terms of quantity, just behind Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, with a team of 15,124 scientific and technological intellectuals, including 275 Professors and Associate Professors, nearly 1,043 PhDs, 3,936 Masters and more than 300 People’s Teachers, Meritorious Teachers, People’s Teachers and 37 Honorary Professors of Hue University.
The 14 typical scientists honored as Typical Science and Technology intellectuals in 2022 represent intellectuals and talents who have made outstanding contributions and dedication to the development of science and technology, as well as the development of the intellectuals’ team of Thua Thien Hue province, contributing to the province’s socio-economic development; the intellectuals with typical solutions, scientific works, and outstanding achievements in scientific and technological research, including one foreign scientist. Their excellent achievements have been recognized not only in the province, the country, and worldwide with people who deserve to be the pride of Thua Thien Hue’s scientific and technology intellectuals.
