In the morning of May 22nd, the Organizing Committee of the Creativity Contest for Youth and Children in Thua Thien Hue Province successfully organized the Closing Ceremony and Award Ceremony for the 17th the contest in 2024.
The ceremony was attended by Mr. Phan Ngoc Tho, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Hoang Khanh Hung, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee’s Propaganda Department; Mr. Nguyen Tan, Director of the Department of Education and Training; Mr. Nguyen Xuan Duong, Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee’s Mass Mobilization Department; Mr. Nguyen Kim Tung, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology; Ms. Hoang Thi Thuy Linh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union; Mr. Nguyen Duong Anh, Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications; representatives of provincial departments, district and town committees, and related agencies, as well as award-winning authors, and a large number of friends and relatives who attended to support.

The Creativity Contest for Youth and Children in Thua Thien Hue Province, organized annually by the Thua Thien Hue Union of Science and Technology Associations in collaboration with the Department of Education and Training, the Department of Science and Technology, and the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, aims to awaken the potential and promote the creative thinking of teenagers across the province, directing youth activities towards socially beneficial endeavors while helping them enrich their knowledge, enhance their creative skills, and aspire to become future inventors.
Through 17 times of organization, there have been thousands of topics participating in the contest at grassroots, district, town, and city levels and 1,591 topics have been introduced to participate in the provincial contest, 671 topics were awarded at the provincial level, 40 topics won national awards and 03 topics won international awards.
The contest has yielded positive results and become a beneficial activity for teenage and youth, opening up new forms of teaching and learning that are closely linked to reality, research, and innovation, helping students become familiar with the methods of thinking and working of scientists.

Speaking at the opening of the ceremony, Dr. Ho Dac Thai Hoang, Head of the Contest Organizing Committee, Party Committee Secretary, and Chairman of HUSTA, stated: “Resolution 54-NQ/TW dated December 10, 2019, in the development of Thua Thien Hue Province until 2030, with a vision to 2045, affirms the concentration of all resources to build Thua Thien Hue into a centrally-run city with cultural, heritage, ecological, landscape, environmentally friendly, and smart characteristics, serving as the country’s center for culture, tourism, specialized healthcare, education and training, science and technology. With the aim of enhancing the contribution of science and technology, innovation to economic growth through scientific research and technology development activities, implementing strategies to develop the potential of science and technology human resources from schools. Over the years, HUSTA has actively coordinated with local authorities and agencies to organize numerous creative competitions in science and technology. Along with time, the quantity and quality of topics participating in contests have increasingly improved. This demonstrates the efforts of all parties involved, teachers, schools, parents, and especially the motivation of students to implement creative scientific and technological activities, aiming to contribute to the development of the province and the country…”

At the ceremony, Mr. Phan Ngoc Tho expressed joy and congratulations to the award-winning authors, commended the efforts of the local authorities, and the Contest Organizing Committee of the Creativity Contest in Thua Thien Hue Province.
In 2024, 163 topics were selected from 9 districts, towns, cities, and high schools, centers for general education and vocational training participating in the provincial-level contest with 05 fields of contest, including: study tools (34 topics); computer software (17 topics); environmentally friendly products (44 topics); household appliances and children’s toys (25 topics); environmental protection solutions, climate change adaptation, and economic development (43 topics).
The Organizing Committee decided to award prizes to 65 topics, including: 02 First prizes, 07 Second prizes, 15 Third prizes, and 41 Consolation. The topics “Spreading the Hue heritage in modern life and integrating Hue heritage into educational activities in secondary schools in Hue City” by the author group Trinh Thi Khanh Linh, Nguyen Le Vinh Khang, Chu Van An Secondary School, Hue City and “Software to support schools in monitoring students during exams” by the author group Le Tran Ngoc Hieu, Nguyen Viet Quoc, Nguyen Tri Phuong Secondary School received the First prize in this year’s contest.

Immediately after the Closing and Award Ceremony, the Organizing Committee officially launched the 18th edition of the Creativity Contest for Youth and Children in Thua Thien Hue Province in 2025, calling for active participation and enthusiasm from teenagers and youth across the province to create the creative movement, scientific research to help them unleash their creative thinking, continuously learn to contribute to a better future.
