On the evening of May 16, at the Hue University Hall, Hue Union of Science and Technology Associations (HUSTA) solemnly held the 9th Ceremony to Honor Distinguished Science and Technology Intellectuals in 2025.
Attending the ceremony to congratulate the honored intellectuals were Mr. Hoàng Khánh Hùng, Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the City Party Committee; Mr. Nguyễn Thanh Bình, Member of the Standing Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee; Ms. Nguyễn Thị Ái Vân, Member of the Standing Committee, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the City; Mr. Nguyễn Xuân Sơn, Member of the City Party Committee, Director of the Department of Science and Technology, along with representatives from various departments, agencies, central organizations and scientists.
Mr. Nguyễn Thanh Bình, Member of the Standing Committee and Standing Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee, delivered a speech at the ceremony.

In 2025, 15 outstanding scientists were honored from 26 scientists nominated by organizations and institutions, including:
- Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Xuân Bả, Former Head of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine, University of Agriculture and Forestry, Hue University; Member of the City Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Association;
- Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lê Trọng Bỉnh, Deputy Head, Department of Diagnostic Imaging, Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital;
- M.A. Lê Thùy Chi, Director of Ho Chi Minh Museum, Department of Culture and Sports;
- Dr. Đỗ Thị Xuân Dung, Vice President of Hue University;
- Dr. Hoàng Thị Ngọc Hà, Secretary General of the Hue Association of Diagnostic Imaging and Nuclear Medicine; Vice President of the Vietnam Chest Imaging Subcommittee;
- Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bùi Đình Hợi, Lecturer, Faculty of Physics, University of Education, Hue University;
- Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lê Văn Hòa, Dean of the Faculty of Event Management and Communication Technology, School of Tourism, Hue University;

- Assoc. Prof. Dr., People’s Doctor Trần Tấn Tài, Head of the Department of Odonto-Stomatology, Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital; Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Odonto-Stomatology Association;
- Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trần Hữu Tuấn, Rector of the School of Tourism, Hue University;
- Dr. Đoàn Chí Thắng, Head of the Department of Cardiology, Center for Demand-based and International Treatment, Hue Central Hospital; Member of the Executive Committee of Hue Cardiology Association;
- Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Hồ Hoàng Thủy, Vice Rector of the University of Foreign Languages, Hue University.
Thus, after nine ceremonies, a total of 133 outstanding intellectuals have been honored, including 25 professors, 46 associate professors, 29 doctors, 15 masters, and 18 individuals who are reputable and highly qualified scientists and experts. Notably, the list includes 11 professors and 2 foreign experts. Hue City remains the only locality in the country that honors foreign scientists.
The Ceremony to Honor Outstanding Science and Technology Intellectuals is a highly meaningful event held annually as part of the activities commemorating Vietnam Science and Technology Day (May 18), organized by HUSTA.
