The use of paper bags in Vietnam has a number of shortcomings because Vietnam has a humid climate with a lot of rain, so paper bags are susceptible to mold, easy to be torn apart when in contact with water, etc.
The idea of using bio-friendly polymers such as agar, collagen and adding a sufficient amount of silver nanomaterials in the bio-polymer mixture to coat the paper surface, to enhance its durability, water resistance, and antibacterial effects. These featureshelp paper bags preserve food better. Thus, the value of paper bags is increased which encourages consumers to reuse more, contributing to environmental protection, and limitation of plastic bags use.
