Launching Young Creator Club and Exhibition on Science and Technology Achievements (December 09, 2015)

In the afternoon of December 09, at Quoc Hoc Hue High school for the Gifted, Thua Thien Hue Union of Science and Technology Associations organized the Launching Ceremony of Young Creator Club and Exhibition on Science and Technology Achievements of young researchers and creators.

Mr. Phan Ngoc Tho, member of the Provincial Standing Party Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Mr. Nguyen Thai Son, member of the Standing Party Committee, Head of Provincial Propaganda and Training Board together with the representatives of departments and agencies; universities, colleges, schools; and businesses and numerous young researchers and creators in the locality attended the meeting.

The Young Creator Club, directly under Thua Thien Hue Union of Science and Technology Associations, is a voluntary organization bringing together members with a passion for scientific and technological research and innovation…With the purposes of unity, gathering young people having creativity and passion for research, creating intellectual products serving the interests of people and society, the Club will create a favourable environment for the members to promote creativity and master science and technology in working, learning and producing, making a contribution to training young and high quality human resources which meet requirements of the period of accelerated industrialization, modernization of the country. The Club operates under the principles of voluntariness, autonomy, openness and transparency, nonprofits and unity of action; solidarity, mutual assistance and equal cooperation.

At the ceremony, the Club introduced the Executive Board with seven members, Mr. Tran Minh Phong – Chief accountant cum Secretary of the Union of Science and Technology Associations as Head of the board and more than 70 original members.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Phan Ngoc Tho stressed: Over a long period of preparation, the Creative Youth Club was officially born. With the original purpose and principle, the club will be a place for young researchers and creators to develop the potential strength of scientific and technical creativity; guide pupils and students to access to appropriate knowledge to serve local socio-economic development. Mr. Phan Ngoc Tho also recommended that the Union of Scientific and Technical Associations and the local departments and agencies should create favourable conditions for the Club to participate in the provincial scientific and technological activities. The Executive Board should be dynamic and have various activities to timely encourage and support the youth to promote research and creative capabilities in the field of science and technology, contributing to raising research efficiency and application of scientific achievements in production and social life

 

Also on this occasion, the Club opened the Science and Technology Achievements Exhibition to introduce the achievements of the young researchers and creators who won Science and Technology Innovation Awards at the Technology Innovation Contest and the Teenagers and Children Creative Contest in the recent years. 35 subjects introduced at the exhibition have been selected from hundreds of representative topics in the entire province, including 22 subjects of the students in the age of teenagers and children. The exhibition will contribute to promoting the movement of science and technology research and innovation in the province, while creating the conditions for subjects and products of young researchers and creators to be deployed and applied more widely in social life.
